Union Minister and now author, Smriti Irani is guest at e-Adda today

CHANGING ROLES have marked Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani. From the lead character in an early evening TV series to a Lok Sabha competitor who wrested the Gandhi family stronghold of Amethi in the 2019 decisions, to an individual from the Cabinet where she, most as of late, directed the Prohibition of Child Marriage (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which tries to raise the legitimate period of marriage for ladies from 18 to 21 years, Irani is currently a creator as well.
Her book Lal Salaam, outlined by the killing of 76 CRPF staff in Dantewada in April 2010, is the tale of a gutsy cop and his journey for truth in the midst of a haze of clashing forms and difficulties.

As Women and Child Development Minister, Irani, who prior held the HRD and I&B portfolios, has presented a few milestone Bills in Parliament, the latest being the Prohibition of Child Marriage (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The service additionally revised the Juvenile Justice Act, while the hotly anticipated Trafficking in Persons (Prevention, Care and Rehabilitation) Bill, 2021, is to be presented in Parliament soon.
